According to a sociological survey conducted by the Razumkov Center in November 2025, the overwhelming majority of Ukrainians believe that it is acceptable to stop the activities of certain religious organizations. In particular, 82.6 percent of those who support such measures are in favor of banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The study also recorded a significant increase in the number of believers of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
According to the Razumkov Center, about 60% of Ukrainians believe it is acceptable to stop the activities of certain religious organizations. Moreover, of the respondents who support such measures, 82.6% were in favor of banning the UOC. A survey conducted by the «Razumkov Center» in November 2025 in Ukraine-controlled territories showed that 58.7% of respondents generally consider the banning of the activities of individual Churches or religious associations by state authorities to be acceptable.
The study also revealed public opinion on the role of the Church in modern Ukrainian society. For 47.2% of respondents, the Church is a moral authority, while 37.9% do not share this view. The majority of respondents (54.1%) are convinced that the Church plays a positive role, while only 5.5% consider this role to be negative. In addition, 52% of Ukrainians expressed the opinion that the Church should be nationally oriented.
We shall remind you that Ukrainian MP Yuliya Klymenko recently said that the state would need 5 to 10 years to completely ban the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The MP claims that the anti-church initiatives that have been adopted so far are not enough, which is why the process of completely banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will take a long time.
