Ukrainian Bible Society has distributed 1.6 million Bibles since the beginning of 2022

Since the beginning of 2022, the Ukrainian Bible Society has distributed 1.6 million copies of the Bible. Along with the growing demand for Scripture, there is an increasing need for programs to help people who have experienced the trauma of war. This is reported by inVictory.
According to the organization, the initial urgent humanitarian aid in the early months of the war has been transformed into a long-term struggle for people’s emotional, psychological and spiritual survival. «At the heart of this ministry is the Ukrainian Bible Society, which is helping to make sure that God’s Word, pastoral support and trauma healing programs continue to reach those who need them most,» the report notes.
Society officials emphasize that people’s needs are changing. While earlier the emphasis was on emergency assistance in crisis, now efforts are focused on strengthening the inner resilience of individuals, families and entire communities. Many Ukrainian families are still living with grief, fear and uncertainty. According to the report, about one million people are serving in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and the number of civilian casualties continues to rise. The scale of suffering in the country is described as «shocking.»
The report notes that all this is affecting people’s moral, psychological and even physical state. «They need support and comfort. Therefore, more and more people are turning to churches for help,» the document emphasizes.
Recall, earlier we reported that a new sociological study in the United States revealed growing contradictions in the views of Americans on the Bible and the foundations of the Christian faith. According to the results, almost half of the respondents consider the Holy Scripture a collection of myths, not the Word of God. At the same time, a significant proportion of respondents also doubt the divinity of Jesus Christ, although they recognize the Bible as an authoritative guide to life.
