UOC-KP hierarch Andriy Marutsak dismissed from key positions in the Kyiv Patriarchate

The head of the UOC-KP, Nikodym Kobzar, signed a decree according to which the administrator of the UOC-KP, Andriy Marutsak, is deprived of his administrative powers. The decision of the head of the structure significantly changes the composition of the organization’s management staff.
According to the head of the UOC-KP, Nikodim Kobzar, the hierarch is dismissed from the post of administrator of the Kyiv Patriarchate of the UOC-KP. In addition, Andriy Marutsak loses the right to be a permanent member of the Holy Synod, which he previously held ex officio.
As a reminder, after the death and burial of the head of the UOC-KP Filaret Denisenko, an internal conflict erupted over the procedure for electing a successor. In a statement, the secretary of the UOC-KP Synod, Andriy Marutsak, accused some hierarchs of gross violations of the church charter and an attempt to seize power behind the scenes.
