Israel will ensure delivery of the Blessed Fire to Romania despite security threats

Israeli authorities have begun official preparations for the transportation of the Holy Flame from Jerusalem to Romania ahead of the Passover celebrations. Despite serious regional security challenges, Israeli government agencies are taking all necessary measures to facilitate this important religious mission.
According to information published by Orthodox Times, the Israeli Embassy in Romania has officially confirmed the start of the logistical processes. Israeli Ambassador Lior Ben Dor noted that preparations continue despite “Iran’s repeated attempts to strike the holy sites in Jerusalem.” He said Israeli authorities are focused on ensuring conditions for the safe observance of this long-standing and deeply meaningful tradition.
The diplomatic statement also emphasized the desire to share the solemn moment of the bringing of the Blessed Fire with millions of Romanian worshippers. This initiative, realized with the participation of the Romanian Patriarchate, confirms the willingness of the parties to maintain spiritual ties, even in the face of current external challenges.
Recall that on March 16, a large fragment of a missile, shot down by an air defense system, fell 100 meters from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. The incident occurred during a rocket attack carried out by Iran in the direction of Jerusalem.
