Court on the case of "Upper Lavra" in Kiev postponed due to the air alert

In Kiev, the next court hearing on the lawsuit filed by the monastery of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church concerning the right to use the temples of the Upper Lavra has been postponed. The reason for the change of schedule was a prolonged air alert, which interrupted the work of state bodies. About it reports Telegram-channel “Fortress Lavra”.

The proceedings took place on April 2, 2026 in the Northern Economic Court of Appeal in Kiev. The subject of the dispute is the right of the brethren of the monastery to perform divine services in the main shrines – the Assumption Cathedral and the Refectory temple. The trial was suspended for security reasons.

Recall, earlier we reported that the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine announced the opening of the Near Caves of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra for believers. Access to the Middle Caves will be open from February 25, 2026. It will be possible to visit the shrine from Wednesday to Sunday, in the hours from 9:00 to 11:00, strictly by appointment and in groups. Whether there will be a fee for access is not specified. From 12:00 to 16:00 there will be guided tours of the caves.
