There was a fire on the territory of the Upper Kiev-Pechersk Lavra

on April 7, 2026, on the territory of the Upper Lavra in Kiev, a fire was recorded in one of the buildings managed by the National Reserve. Firefighters managed to quickly localize the fire, as a result of the incident no one was injured.

As reported in the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kiev, the signal about the fire on Lavrska Street came to the duty unit at 13:11. The fire was located in a one-story inactive building on the museum territory. The fire quickly spread to an area of about 150 square meters, but rescuers managed to completely eliminate the fire by 13:43.

Earlier in social networks were published photo and video materials, which captured the moment of fire in a part of the Upper Lavra. Information about the fire confirmed that the affected structure belongs to the objects under the management of the National Reserve. At the moment the causes of the incident are clarified by specialists.

Recall, earlier we reported that the National Reserve “Kievo-Pechersk Lavra” held a “rebranding” of the names of the saints, whose incorruptible relics rest in the caves of the Holy Assumption Kievo-Pechersk Lavra. The plaques with the names of the saints, which were previously written in Church Slavonic, have been translated into Ukrainian.
