People's Deputy Solomiya Bobrovska called on the SBU to intervene in the court proceedings in the cases against the UOC

People’s Deputy Solomiya Bobrovska issued a strong statement following a hearing at the Northern Economic Court of Appeals regarding disputes over properties belonging to the Upper Lavra. The lawmaker expressed dissatisfaction with the presence of UOC believers outside the courthouse and called on the Security Service of Ukraine to respond more actively to such incidents.
In her remarks, Bobrovska emphasized that she was “struck by the number of older women” who had come to the court hearing to support the Church. The politician expressed gratitude to radical activists who, according to her, are conducting outreach with parishioners, accusing them of supporting the “evil empire.” The MP stressed the need to completely free the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and other holy sites from the influence she associates with Moscow and the Russian Federation’s special services.
In addition to the situation surrounding the Lavra, the lawmaker stated the need for further steps to restrict the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the regions, citing the Korets Women’s Monastery and the church in Ostroh as examples. Bobrovska has consistently maintained the position that the security services must systematically intervene in the activities of religious organizations, having previously labeled charitable initiatives by believers in the Rivne region as a “threat to national security.”
As a reminder, earlier, a member of the Ukrainian Parliament from the “Eurosolidarity” party, Mykola Knyazhitsky demanded that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) intervene regarding believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the village of Vetly, Volyn Oblast, who are defending the local St. Nicholas Church from raider attacks by supporters of the OCU. The MP believes that attempts at legal self-defense constitute “targeted subversive activity in the context of a full-scale war.”
