The latest court hearing in the Verkhnyaya Lavra case took place amid pressure from right-wing extremists

During the most recent court hearing on the Verkhnyaya Lavra case, statements were heard from representatives of the Nature Reserve and the Monastery, and the court began considering the positions of third parties—the monks of the monastery. According to information provided by Archpriest Nikita Chekman, the attorney for the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the next court hearing in this case is scheduled for November 10 at 2:30 p.m.

The attorney also noted that the proceedings took place in a tense atmosphere. According to Nikita Chekman, individuals calling themselves activists—in particular, David Pshenichny—were present in the courtroom, concealing their faces with balaclavas. The defense expressed bewilderment that court security personnel and law enforcement officers had allowed such individuals to be present.

The statement emphasizes that these individuals behaved aggressively, provoking conflicts in the court corridors. The attorney appealed to the faithful to continue offering their prayers in support of the monastery and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church during this difficult period.
