A fashion show was held at the Refectory Church of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra

A secular event—the presentation of a new collection of silk scarves by the Ukrainian brand OLIZ—took place in the Refectory Church of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. The display of items inspired by 5th-century mosaics sparked public debate amid ongoing discussions about the appropriateness of using church spaces for such events.
The new scarf, titled “Amber,” is part of a collaborative collection between the brand and the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve. According to the brand’s founder, Khristina Zboroshenko, the designers drew on historical heritage and cultural roots in their work, while representatives of the reserve emphasized that such collaborations are intended to integrate the Lavra’s artistic treasures into contemporary fashion.
The event also featured a historical lecture and a charity auction, the proceeds of which, according to the organizers, will be directed toward the reserve’s needs. This event continues a series of social gatherings at the Trapeznoe Church, which has been under the administration of the Ministry of Culture since 2023, following the seizure of the site from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
We previously reported that the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve hosted a documentary photo exhibition titled “Kalinovsky’s Regiment: The Long Road Home.” The exhibition, which chronicles the combat journey of Belarusian volunteers serving in the Ukrainian Defense Forces, was displayed within the walls of the Great Lavra Bell Tower.
