MP, whose husband does business with Russia, called "treason" the court's cancellation of the DESS expertise on the UOC's ties with Moscow a "betrayal

The Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal has ruled to cancel the results of a religious expert examination by the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience, which earlier established the existence of canonical ties between the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) and the Moscow Patriarchate. This verdict caused a sharp reaction among representatives of the authorities and the public. In her Facebook post, an MP from the Freedom party, Oksana Savchuk, harshly criticized the court’s decision.

In her statement, she called the incident a «betrayal» and a «shock for all sane citizens». According to Savchuk, the issue of the status of the UOC is not only religious, but also a matter of national security, given the risk of influence of foreign intelligence services through church institutions.

In her publication, the MP noted that the judges who made this decision are from Donetsk region. She also mentioned the position of the head of the GUR Kirill Budanov on this issue, emphasizing the need for a clear state position of pro-Ukrainian forces.

It is worth noting that in the publicized income declaration for 2022, the people’s Deputy from Prykarpattia from VO «Freedom» Oksana Savchuk indicated that her husband owns a share and receives a salary in LLC «Veldotherm-Ukraine». Among the founders of the company are the German company Weldoterm and Dmytro Deikin, who does business in Russia and pays taxes there.
