German Cardinal Gerhard Müller called the blessing of same-sex unions "blasphemy"

German Cardinal Gerhard Müller has sharply criticized the Vatican leadership and the German episcopate for promoting the LGBT agenda within the Catholic Church. According to LifeSiteNews, the hierarch released a policy statement in which he called the practice of blessing same-sex unions «blasphemous» and «fake» because it directly contradicts the biblical revelation of human creation.
In his address, Muller accused the Vatican of attempting to make a «paradigm shift» by replacing strict Christian dogma with so-called «comfortable Christianity.» According to the cardinal, such a policy is aimed at pleasing the modern zeitgeist and indulging human weaknesses instead of calling for moral correction. He emphasized that the activities of the «homo-lobby» within the Church structures impose a materialistic image of man, deprived of the divine beginning.
The cardinal also harshly criticized theologians and bishops who use the concept of «mercy» to justify sin. Müller argues that they substitute God’s order with their own pseudo-theologies based on psychology and sociology. Drawing historical parallels, the hierarch compared the current state of affairs with the ancient heresies of Manichaeism and Pelagianism, calling LGBT ideology a destructive force that inevitably leads to church schism and loss of spiritual life.
Earlier we reported that Cardinal Reinhard Marx, who has headed the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising since 2008, officially ordered the introduction of the practice of blessing same-sex couples and divorced Catholics who have remarried.
