UOC-KP announces upcoming "enthronement" of Nikodym Kobzar

The UOC-KP has officially announced the upcoming enthronement of Patriarch Nikodim of Kyiv and All Rus-Ukraine. The solemn service and the ceremony of accession are scheduled for the first half of June 2026 in the city of Sumy.

According to a statement issued by the head of the UOC-KP, Nikodim Kobzar, the event will take place on June 7, 2026, on All Saints’ Sunday. The Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, during which the enthronement will be performed, will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Epiphany Cathedral.

The UOC-KP Public Relations Department invites hierarchs, pastors and all the faithful to come and take part in this significant church ceremony. The official statement expresses the hope that this event will strengthen faith, hope and love among all Orthodox Christians.

As reported earlier, the Synod of the OCU under the leadership of Epiphany Dumenko recently decided to defrock the head of the UOC-KP, Nikodim Kobzar, and a number of other representatives of the organization. The OCU characterized the activities of the Kyiv Patriarchate as an attempt to split and called on supporters to ignore any of their initiatives.
