Delegation of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church paid an official visit to Tbilisi

on May 16, 2026, an official delegation of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church arrived in Georgia at the invitation of the Georgian Patriarchate for an official visit. The trip is aimed at strengthening inter-church ties and participation in joint prayer events.

According to the Information and Education Department of the UOC, the delegation, with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, was headed by Metropolitan Sergiy of Ternopil and Kremenets. During the visit, representatives of the UOC visited the capital of Georgia to participate in the festive services.

On the eve of the sixth Week after Easter, representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church took part in the evening service at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Tbilisi. The prayerful celebration was led by His Holiness and Beatitude Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Shio II. This visit emphasizes the importance of spiritual unity and the continuation of dialogue between the local Orthodox Churches.
