Patriarch Shio III emphasized the importance of the unity of the Orthodox Churches at the Divine Service in Tbilisi

A solemn service was held at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Tbilisi, during which Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Shio III called for strengthening fraternal unity and expressed gratitude to the faithful for their support. In his sermon, the Primate emphasized the importance of spiritual unity between the Local Orthodox Churches.
According to Orthodox Times, Patriarch Shio III expressed special love and gratitude to the representatives of other Orthodox Churches who attended the service. According to him, this presence is an undeniable proof of spiritual unity and Christ’s love. The Patriarch expressed confidence that it is through such fullness of fellowship that faith and the inner strength of Church institutions are strengthened.
In his address to the flock, Shio III touched upon the theme of personal responsibility, noting the realization of the greatness of his calling and the weight of the cross of Patriarchal service. He emphasized that the prayerful support of parishioners, clergy and monks gives him the necessary spiritual strength and determination in moments of realizing human weakness. The Primate thanked the Georgian people for their many years of cooperation and love, which have been the source of his inspiration.
Concluding his sermon, the Patriarch reminded that the current celebrations in Georgia coincide with the celebration of the Day of Family Purity and Respect for Parents, which gives the event additional significance in the context of strengthening the traditional values of society.
