UOC-KP opens parish in Africa

The head of the UOC-KP, Nikodim Kobzar, has officially accepted an Orthodox community from Uganda into the structure he leads. This decision was made on May 26, 2026, in response to a request.
As Kobzar said in his official statement, Archpriest Haralambos Otsena entered the jurisdiction of the Kyiv Patriarchate. Together with the priest, the parish of St. Joseph, which operates in Uganda, was accepted into the UOC-KP.
Earlier, it became known that the hierarch of the UOC-KP in the United States , Luka Zgoba, was officially suspended from his duties and “banned from ministry.”
