The U.S. official representative in Ukraine condemned the attack on the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra

The U.S. condemned the attack on the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, emphasizing that attacks on civilians and Christian holy sites are unacceptable. Julie Davis, the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Ukraine, stated that she personally visited the site of the attack and witnessed the devastation at one of Ukraine’s most famous historical and spiritual landmarks.

According to Channel 24, Julie Davis noted that the strike affected not only a site of cultural and religious significance but also Kyiv’s civilian infrastructure. According to her, residential buildings were also damaged as a result of the attacks, and both adults and children were among those hospitalized. The diplomat emphasized that such actions against the civilian population and Christian holy sites are unacceptable.

“Attacks against civilians and Christian holy sites are unacceptable. This horrific violence must stop, and the war must end, Julie Davis said, commenting on the aftermath of the strike.

As a reminder, it was previously reported that U.S. President Donald Trumpsupported the initiative to appoint Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem as a mediator in efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement between Russia and Ukraine. The religious leader is expected to help establish a direct line of communication between Moscow and Kyiv to find ways to achieve a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
