The head of the Poltava Regional State Administration called on the Ukrainian Orthodox Church community in Kremenchuk to accept the hostile takeover of their church by supporters of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine

Vitaliy Dyakivnych, head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, made a statement during a recent press conference regarding the status of the Holy Trinity Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Kremenchuk. The official emphasized that representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church must “strictly comply with court rulings regarding the religious community’s transition to the OCU.”
It is reported that the comments were prompted by journalists’ questions about possible attempts by representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church community to re-register the community, which has already legally changed its jurisdiction.
In his speech, the head of the regional administration noted that, as of now, the regional administration had not received any documents or official requests from representatives of the UOC regarding a change in jurisdiction or the re-registration of the Holy Trinity Church. The situation surrounding the religious building remains under the control of the authorities, who insist on compliance with the law and respect for the outcomes of court proceedings.
Commenting on the situation, Vitaliy Dyakivnych emphasized: “The UOC must comply with the court’s decision.”
As a reminder, we previously reported that the religious community of the Holy Trinity Church in Kremenchuk held a lawful meeting and attempted to overturn decisions related to the church’s re-registration, which, according to the UOC, were adopted with the participation of outsiders. In response, representatives of the OCU alleged “hostile takeover” and appealed to the Poltava Regional State Administration to prevent further registration actions, while the parishioners insist on the protection of their rights.
