In the United Kingdom, a teacher was fired from a Catholic school for criticizing LGBT ideology

In the United Kingdom, 60-year-old teacher William Garwood was barred from teaching for six years after he harshly criticized the LGBT community during class at a Catholic school. The incident occurred at St. Mary’s Academy in West Yorkshire, according to theDaily Mail.

According to the case file, William Garwood made a series of controversial remarks during a history class, calling people of non-traditional sexual orientation “mentally ill.” In addition, the teacher told his students that influential billionaires were behind the promotion of the transgender agenda, using the media to manipulate public opinion.

During the hearing conducted by the Teaching Regulator Authority (TRA), Garwood insisted that his remarks were based on religious beliefs and aligned with traditional values. Nevertheless, the disciplinary commission characterized his remarks as “clearly inappropriate,” emphasizing that such statements are discriminatory in nature and do not align with the curriculum. Under the regulator’s decision, the teacher is barred from teaching until at least June 2032.
