The court hearing in the case of Metropolitan Arseny has been postponed again

The Chechelovsky District Court of Dnipro was forced to postpone the hearing scheduled for August 5, 2026, in the case of Metropolitan Arseny, the abbot of the Svyatogorsk Lavra. The hearing was postponed due to a sudden deterioration in the health of Judge Tatyana Bezruk, who is currently on sick leave. This was reported by , the press service of the Svyatogorsk Lavra.

The main purpose of the upcoming hearing was to review the pretrial measure imposed on the hierarch, as the term of the current restriction—nighttime house arrest—expires on August 11. The prosecution has already filed a motion to extend this pretrial measure and has asked the presiding judge to appoint a new judge in order to consider the matter before the deadline expires.

At this time, the exact date for the resumption of the trial remains unknown. The press office of the Svyatogorsk Lavra has called on the faithful to continue offering their prayers in support of Metropolitan Arseny and the entire monastic community during this difficult period.
