TRC officers detained the protodeacon of the Nezherovsky Monastery of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

Representatives of the Regional Recruitment Center (RRC) detained a cleric from the Neshcherov Monastery, Protodeacon Alexander Yuvko. The incident occurred on August 9, 2026, as the clergyman was heading home after the conclusion of the Sunday Divine Liturgy.

Information about the incident was posted on the monastery’s official Facebook page. The monastery’s statement notes that the priest was effectively taken away on his way home from the service. Representatives of the monastery have appealed to the faithful for increased prayerful support in light of the situation.

At this time, details of the incident—including the exact location of the detention, the protodeacon’s current whereabouts, and the planned actions of the TRC staff—remain unknown. It is worth noting that a special hotline was previously established to protect the rights of and provide legal assistance to the clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on issues related to mobilization measures.
