In the city of Lubny, Poltava Oblast, officers from the Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) detained Father Anatoly Bezrodny, the rector of the Assumption Churches in the villages of Shershnevka and Aleksandrovka. The incident has caused concern among the faithful, who have been left without spiritual guidance in their parishes.

According to “First Cossack” , the 50-year-old priest was detained on the evening of August 21 while walking down the street. According to parishioners, Father Anatoly, in addition to his pastoral duties, was caring for his elderly parents.

At this time, according to available information, the priest is in the village of Chernukhi. It is planned that he will be transferred to the city of Pyriatyn in the near future for further legal proceedings.
