A meeting between the leaders of the Moldovan Church and the Bessarabian Metropolis took place in Chisinau

Metropolitan Vladimir of Chișinău and All Moldova and Metropolitan Antony of Bessarabia held an official meeting during which they discussed prospects for developing dialogue between the two church organizations. The event took place on August 26, 2026, at the presidential residence as part of the celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of the Republic of Moldova’s independence.

According to and Basilica.ro, during the talks, the hierarchs confirmed their readiness for direct interaction. The parties emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between church communities, noting that such cooperation is necessary to maintain peace and foster a greater sense of social responsibility.

Representatives of the Bessarabian Metropolis also highlighted the successful experience of cooperation between the two organizations in the context of social and charitable activities.

It should be recalled that earlier, the Bessarabian Metropolis of the Romanian Patriarchate confirmed that Romania had provided financial support for the church schism in Moldova.
