The Primate of the Macedonian Church has resumed his public duties after a hiatus due to health issues

Archbishop Stefan, Primate of the Macedonian Orthodox Church—Archdiocese of Ohrid, has resumed his public participation in divine services. On September 21, the feast day of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos, Archbishop Stefan prayerfully attended the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Nativity of the Theotokos. His Eminence’s return to public duties came after several weeks of forced absence due to health issues. Earlier, on August 25, the press service of the Holy Synod announced the cancellation of the archbishop’s planned visit to the American-Canadian Diocese. This decision was made based on the recommendations of his attending physicians.

It should be noted that during his absence, Archbishop Stefan also missed the celebration of the Transfiguration of the Lord on August 19. Although details regarding the Primate’s health were not disclosed, in an official statement issued in August, the Church of Macedonia expressed hope for his speedy recovery and return to his regular duties, which has now successfully taken place.
