The Supreme Court has opened appellate proceedings on the appeal filed by the Kyiv Metropolis of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

The State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience (GESS) has officially announced that the Supreme Court of Ukraine has opened appellate proceedings. The decision was made by a panel of judges of the Administrative Court of Cassation on September 22, 2026.

According to , the official website of the GESS, the legal proceedings concern an appeal filed by the Kyiv Metropolis of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC). The subject of the appeal is a decision by the Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal, issued earlier on July 23, 2026, in administrative case No. 855/11/25.

Currently, the case has been assigned the case number A/990/22/26 and is under review by the highest court for further procedural resolution.
