The court ordered the suspension of the activities of the Rovenki Diocese Administration of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church following a lawsuit filed by DESS

The Sixth Administrative Court of Appeals ruled to terminate the activities of the religious organization “Administration of the Rovenki Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.” The administrative lawsuit filed by the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience (DESS) was partially granted.
According to the official website of the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience, the decision in Case No. 855/11/26 was issued on October 21, 2026. According to the ruling, the activities of the legal entity—the religious organization “Administration of the Rovenky Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church” (code 38542690)—are to be terminated. This organization was registered on April 24, 2013, at the following address: 25 Gagarin Quarter, Rovenky, Luhansk Oblast.
The official statement emphasizes that the DESS’s claims were granted only insofar as they pertained to the dissolution of the organization. The court denied the remainder of the claims. This decision was the outcome of the appellate review of the case regarding the termination of the religious organization’s activities.
As a reminder, the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience (DESS) had previously officially initiated an investigation into the possible affiliation of the “Administration of the Boryspil Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church” with the Russian Orthodox Church.
