Trial in the case of Lavra's abbot, Metropolitan Pavel

On September 1, 2023, a court hearing in the case of Metropolitan Pavel was held in the Solomensky District Court of Kyiv, at which the issue of setting a time limit for familiarizing the defense with the materials of the criminal proceedings was decided. Lawyer Nikita Chekman announced this on his own Telegram channel.

“Metropolitan Pavel, who has already been discharged from the hospital, took part in the court session via videoconference due to poor health,” the report says.

Based on the results of consideration of the petition, the court set a deadline until September 12 for familiarization with the materials of the criminal proceedings, after which the case will be sent to court.

The lawyer also said that Metropolitan Pavel continues outpatient treatment and needs constant medical supervision.
