We can vote it in May or June - deputy about the Bill #8371

The deputy head of the Humanitarian and Information Policy Committee, an MP of the Servant of the People party, Yevheniya Kravchuk, said that the Verkhovna Rada might vote in favor of the bill No 8371 aimed at banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in May or June. She stated this on the air of the Unified telethon.
«Any conditional, formal obstacles for the bill to get on the agenda, now there is no, — she believes. — If some advocates inside parliament want to delay and put edits on the books — obviously, it can be done. But we have the experience of many days of passing various complex laws. I am sure that the Verkhovna Rada is ready for it. […] At the Conciliation Council of the next session days, I can not name the date, this issue will be very acute and, quite possibly, there is a possibility that we can vote it in May or June,» — said Kravchuk.
We will remind, earlier we reported that on April 9, 2024, a letter from the U.S. Commission on Religious Freedom was sent to the State of Ukraine, represented by U.S. Ambassador Oksana Markarova. In it, representatives of the expert religious environment of the United States pointed out the discriminatory paragraphs of the bill № 8371, aimed at banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The U.S. Commission on Religious Freedom believes that Ukraine should send the draft law No. 8371 to the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe and the UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Religion or Belief to check its compliance with international norms on the protection of religious beliefs.
