The SSU reported the discovery of “anti-Ukrainian literature” in the network of UOC church shops

The Security Service of Ukraine has reported that a network of church shops in the churches of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, where, according to the special services, anti-Ukrainian literature was distributed, has been exposed. The SSU said that the literature “propagandized religious intolerance and justification of Russian aggression against Ukraine”. About it reports the official website of the Department.

“Batches of enemy copies were found in Uzhgorod, Zhytomyr, Nikolaev and Kiev on the territory of one of the networks of church shops of the UOC (MP). The owners of these stores ordered propaganda literature in bulk from a printing house in Ternopil region. A forensic linguistic examination initiated by the Security Service confirmed that the found copies justified the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and contained calls for inter-confessional hostility and religious intolerance. According to the investigation, the mass distribution of provocative publications could lead to the shaking of the socio-political situation in Ukraine in favor of the Russian Federation. On the basis of the collected evidence, the owner of one of the stores has been reported on suspicion under part 1 of Article 300 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (import, production or distribution of works propagandizing the cult of violence and cruelty, racial, national or religious intolerance and discrimination),” – the agency said.

We would like to point out that the Security Service of Ukraine continues systematic pressure against the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, regularly visiting representatives and organizations of the UOC with searches. Earlier we reported that on May 1, 2024, the SSU came with searches to Metropolitan Luke (Kovalenko), the administrator of the Zaporizhzhya diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
