"We will fight": In the Ternopil diocese of the UOC commented on the situation around the cathedral

The Ternopil diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has commented on the situation around the cathedral of the martyrs Vera, Nadiya, Lyubov and Sofia. The press secretary of the diocese, Archpriest Stefan Balan, said that despite the decisions of the courts of first instance, the church will continue to defend its interests in the Supreme Court. He said in a comment to the regional publication «20 Minutes».

«I do not understand, we are so many years in this church, there have never been any problems. And here in 2023 there were these rallies, and now also the courts. We are the Ukrainian church, we pray for peace in Ukraine, we help our defenders. I don’t know what we are doing wrong. We know about the decision of the Western Court of Appeal, we have read it, but we are not going to give up. We have lawyers who will continue to fight for our right to remain in the Cathedral of Faith, Hope, Love and their mother Sophia. Now we continue worship services, the doors of the temple are open to all people», — said the spokesman for the Ternopil diocese of the UOC.

Earlier we reported that the Ternopil city Council is making plans to transfer the Cathedral of the Ternopil diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in honor of the martyrs Vira, Hope, Love and Sophia to the OCU. The city council is going to consider the issue of transferring the cathedral in the near future.
