Metropolitan Longin (Zhar) was involved in a traffic accident: the police told about the details of the accident
The hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Longin (Zhar) of Banchenko, has been involved in a serious road accident and is in intensive care. The driver of the car, in which the bishop was traveling, failed to cope with the control. About it reports the site of the national police of Ukraine in Chernivtsi region.
“Police officers documented another traffic accident in the administrative boundaries of the village Strumok. At the scene of the accident worked investigative and operational team of the Department № 1 (Sokyryany) Dniester district police Department. The police officers preliminarily found out that a 22-year-old resident of Molnitsa village, driving a car “Lexus”, failed to cope with the control and allowed the car to go into the ditch. As a result of the accident, the driver and his 58-year-old passenger received bodily injuries, doctors hospitalized the victims in a medical institution. Information about these facts of the road accident police investigators entered into the Unified register of pre-trial investigations under parts 1 and 2 of article 286 (Violation of the rules of safety of road traffic or operation of transport by persons operating vehicles) of the Criminal code of Ukraine”, – stated in the message.
Before the official police notification, the media reported that the victim was Metropolitan Longin (Zhar), who the day before had visited a medical facility due to heart problems.
