16 UOC communities registered in Ivano-Frankivsk region

As of September 1, 2024, 16 religious communities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church are still registered in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. This is reported in a response to a request sent to the relevant department of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, according to the publication Informator.

It is reported that the Department of Culture, Nationalities and Religions of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, in response to a request, reported that as of September 1, 2024, 16 legal entities-religious organizations that are subordinate to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church were registered in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. At the same time, the department adds that since 2019, 10 religious communities in the Carpathian region have changed their canonical subordination and constituent documents and joined the OCU.

Earlier, we reported that the Lviv Regional State Administration requires the 11 remaining religious communities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the region to join the OCU by the end of the year. According to the relevant officials of the regional state administration, this should happen as part of the “decommunization” and the fight against the UOC in the region.
