Access to websites in defense of the UOC is blocked again in Ukraine

On November 15, 2024, the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine published an order requiring electronic communication service providers (Internet providers — ed.) to restrict access to the Internet resources of the Union of Orthodox Journalists and Dialog.here, which defend the interests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This is not the first time that access to these sites has been blocked and, as in the previous case, at the request of the Security Service of Ukraine. This is reported by the UOJ.

«The order states that the sites will be blocked until the end of martial law. In its order, the SSU does not give reasons for the blocking, only refers to the Decree of the President of Ukraine on the introduction of martial law and its articles on electronic communication. The document says that Ukrainian providers must report on the implementation,» the publication reports.

As reported, on September 12, 2024, the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine published an order according to which the information website Raskolam.net and other online media supporting the Ukrainian Orthodox Church were re-blocked on the territory of Ukraine. The decision was made in response to a request from the Security Service of Ukraine and will remain in effect until the end of martial law in the country.
