The Primate of the Albanian Church is in critical condition

The Primate of the Albanian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios of Albania, is in critical health in a hospital in Greece. Despite the claims of Albanian doctors that nothing threatens the health of His Beatitude, his condition has sharply deteriorated, in connection with which he was transported for emergency treatment from Albania to Greece. “Since December 30, Archbishop Anastasios has been hospitalized in one of the hospitals in Tirana due to a viral infection. However, his health condition deteriorated further and symptoms of gastrorrhagia appeared, leading to the decision to transfer him to Evangelismos Hospital for extended medical care. The air evacuation was carried out by a C-27 aircraft of the Greek Air Force. The Archbishop was accompanied by a medical team, including a doctor and two rescuers from the flying medical staff of the National Emergency Center. The plane landed at the military airfield in Elefsina at 7:34 p.m. Thursday evening. From there, the Archbishop was immediately taken by ambulance to Evangelismos Hospital, where he continues to receive medical care,” – the report said.
