Earlier, Natalia Rebrova, director general of the Chernihiv Ancient Reserve, said that the institution would continue to use the churches of Chernihiv taken from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church not for their intended purpose but for organizing secular and cultural events. Rebrova argues that since these churches are architectural monuments that are a historical heritage, they cannot be used exclusively for worship.
Relics of Chernihiv saints will remain on the state's balance sheet, - head of Chernihiv Ancient Reserve

The imperishable relics of Chernihiv saints — Saints Theodosius, Filaret and St. Lawrence of Chernihiv — which are kept in the Trinity Cathedral in Chernihiv, which was taken away from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, will remain on the state’s balance sheet as museum relics. The situation with the shrines will not change, despite the position of religious organizations claiming the Holy Trinity Church. This was reported by Natalia Rebrova, head of the Chernihiv Ancient Reserve, in an interview with PECHERA.info.
“This obliges us to do a lot. All the experts, starting with the National Restoration Center, the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, all testify that the relics are in good condition, and we keep them accordingly. We need to resolve the issue of the use of the Trinity Cathedral by the church community. Today the state is developing the terms of use and the procedure for transferring religious buildings for use. Therefore, we have to wait a little bit,” — said Rebrova.
