The 95-year-old Primate of the Albanian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios, has been in a coma in critical condition for 20 days. Currently, the First Hierarch is intubated and is being treated in the intensive care unit of Evangelismos Hospital in Athens. Despite the constant efforts of the attending doctors to gradually bring him to consciousness, this goal has not yet been achieved. This is reported by the publication Ta Nea.
It is reported that nine days after surgery to remove bleeding in the lower digestive tract, the Archbishop’s condition shows no significant improvement. The attending doctors are working tirelessly, but the situation remains extremely alarming. Every hour that passes without positive developments further emphasizes the critical nature of his health condition.
