Head of “Center for Countering Disinformation” accuses UOC of terrorist attacks against TRC

The head of the “Center for Countering Disinformation” at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Andriy Kovalenko, accused the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of terrorist acts against territorial centers for recruitment and social support. Kovalenko claims that Russia finances such actions through the parishes of the UOC, and that members of the Church’s “security forces” are involved in the execution. He said this in a comment to RBC-Ukraine.

“The Moscow Patriarchate has been creating networks for a long time, in particular among people who worked in the security forces of the MP. There were a large number of actual militants, these were security organizations, but in fact, most of them worked in Crimea and participated in the occupation of Crimea. These people can now produce explosives, but I think the SBU will work professionally, and it will all be eliminated,” – Kovalenko explained.

Earlier, during a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, the head of the State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine, Pylyp Pronin, accused the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of having been financing the dioceses of the UOC with money from Russia for a long time. Pronin claims that the funding was provided through funds that are affiliated with former MP Vadym Novynskyi.
