Moldovan government urged to invite Romanian Patriarch Daniel to visit the country

Former CEC chairman Yuriy Chokan appealed to Moldovan President Maia Sandu to join the initiative of the Bessarabian Metropolis and officially invite the Primate of the Romanian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Patriarch Daniel, to visit the republic. This proposal was made in the context of the recent episcopal ordination of a vicar bishop for the Bessarabian Metropolis, recently performed by the Primate of the Romanian Orthodox Church in Bucharest. This was reported by the Telegram channel “Orthodox Moldova”.
“I took the liberty of asking him in front of the people gathered in the church to come to us again, this time as the father of our Church, because I am convinced that this will bring joy and hope to our faithful. (…) Romania is our Europe,” — Csokan said on Facebook.
Earlier, we reported that the Primate of the Romanian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Daniel, led the episcopal ordination of a new auxiliary bishop of the Chisinau Archdiocese of Moldova (part of the Bessarabian Metropolis). Archimandrite Nectarius Clinic, former abbot of the Sihastria Putney Monastery, will become the new bishop of the Romanian Orthodox Church in Moldova.
