"40 days have passed": Albanian Church announces funeral prayer for Archbishop Anastasios

The Holy Synod of the Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania has announced the fortieth commemoration of the deceased Primate of the AOC, His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios. In this regard, a special memorial service will be held at the Resurrection Cathedral of Tirana. This is reported by the official website of the Albanian Orthodox Church.

“The Holy Synod of the Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania announces that the forty-day memorial of the passing from this life of the Archbishop of Tirana, Durres and all Albania, his Beatitude Anastasios, will be held on Saturday, March 1st, 2025, at the Resurrection of Christ Cathedral in Tirana, following the Divine Liturgy. This will be followed by a Trisagion service at the grave side of the late Archbishop. All are invited to honor the memory of our beloved Father and Arch-shepherd and to join in prayer for the repose of his soul,” — the press service said.

Earlier, we reported that the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy of Kyiv and All Ukraine, expressed his condolences to the Holy Synod of the Albanian Orthodox Church on the death of His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios.
