"God has a plan to save Ukraine": Head of UGCC calls to abandon peace talks

Head of the UGCC Sviatoslav Shevchuk believes that Ukraine should abandon peace talks with Russia. According to Shevchuk, the format of peace that is being imposed on Ukraine behind its back is unacceptable and unfair. His words are reported by the Information Department of the UGCC.

“We hear this word of God in very disturbing times for Ukraine, Europe and the whole world. We see how today, on the one hand, we are paying the highest price for our freedom and independence, and on the other hand, behind our backs, they are trying to trade our lives or force us to some kind of fictitious truce, which is in no way a just peace for Ukraine. But the Lord God says today what He wants to do for us now. He has a plan to save our homeland. And that savior is the Lord Jesus Christ Himself,” – Shevchuk said.

We recall that on February 7, 2025, while participating in the Ukrainian Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C., the head of the OCU Epiphany Dumenko made a speech in which he hinted at the need to restore Ukraine’s nuclear status. Dumenko complained that Ukraine had once abandoned nuclear weapons, which resulted in Russia’s invasion. Now, in his opinion, in order for the country to resist Russian aggression, it needs “the very sword” that will help Ukraine to survive.
