Recall, March 16, 2025 in Tirana held elections for the new Primate of the Albanian Orthodox Church. According to the results of the election process, Metropolitan John of Korczan was elected as the new Beatitude Archbishop of Tirana and All Albania, who had previously held the position of Primate’s See.
Romanian Patriarch congratulates newly elected Primate of the Albanian Church
On March 16, 2025, after the election of Metropolitan John of Korçin as Primate of the Albanian Orthodox Church, the head of the Romanian Patriarchate, Patriarch Daniel, congratulated the newly elected His Beatitude Archbishop of Albania on his appointment. The greeting was published on the official website of the Romanian Orthodox Church.
“It is with great joy in Christ that we wish to congratulate Your Eminence on the occasion of your election as Archbishop of Tirana, Durrë and All Albania. At the same time, we pray that our Lord Jesus Christ will grant you many spiritual accomplishments in the new ministry entrusted to you. On behalf of the members of the Holy Synod, clergy and faithful of the Romanian Orthodox Church, we wish Your Eminence many blessed years of service to the Orthodox people of Albania and God’s help in all your activities,” — the text of the greeting reads.
