U.S. takes steps to protect Christians in Syria, says Vice President Vance

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance said that the U.S. government is taking certain steps to protect Christians in Syria. According to Vance, work has already begun at the diplomatic level to reduce the pressure of radical Islamists on religious and ethnic minorities in Syria. He said this in an interview with Fox news.

“We do not want to see another Christian community wiped off the face of the earth. We are already talking to our allies. We are already doing certain things privately to encourage them to protect minorities. We do not want to let this happen again. Obviously, we’re not going to send troops into Syria, but we can use diplomacy and economics to protect these groups,” – Vance said.

Earlier we reported that His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia published an address to His Beatitude Patriarch John, Primate of the Antiochian Orthodox Church, in connection with the tragic events in Syria. The Primate of the Russian Church assured Patriarch John of his support and welcomed his efforts to achieve peace in Syria.
