Supreme Court transfers St. Borys and Hlib Church of UOC in Vyshhorod to OCU

On March 18, 2025, the Supreme Court of Ukraine issued a ruling that transferred the church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in honor of Saints Borys and Hlib in Vyshhorod (Kyiv region) to the OCU. It is worth noting that the conflict over this church has been going on since 2023. Then the adherents of the OCU held a so-called meeting of the territorial community, at which they “transferred” the church from the UOC to the OCU, after which the building was seized by representatives of the OCU, the UGCC and paramilitary groups. This is reported by the regional edition “Kyiv Vlada”.

“On March 18, 2025, we received the final categorical decision of the Supreme Court of Ukraine, which confirmed all previous conclusions and rejected all accusations and accusations of supporters of the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine or the so-called UOC in unity with the Moscow Patriarchate and the Kremlin’s murderers. My sincere gratitude to the entire community, to everyone who has been involved and is now actively involved in the life of the parish. Special thanks to the deputy of the Kyiv Regional Council, Doctor of Law, Mr. Roman Tytykal, for his professionalism and sacrifice not only in the performance of his professional duties as a lawyer, but also for his sincerity and love for his native Church,” – the OCU supporter wrote on his Facebook page.

As we reported earlier, on September 6, 2023, with the support of the police and the terrorist defense, the chaplains of the OCU and the UGCC seized the church of the UOC of Borys and Hlib in Vyshgorod. On its Facebook page, the church community posted a video of the seizure, which shows how the raiders, using scrap metal and hydraulic scissors, opened the church doors.
