Lenten Procession “With a Prayer for Peace” Taking Place in Kamianske

Since April 2, the Lenten cross procession titled “With a Prayer for Peace” has been taking place in the city of Kamianske. The faithful are walking from church to church, offering prayers for peace in Ukraine and protection for its people. This was reported on the official page of the eparchy.

A special relic of the procession is the reliquary with the Passion of the Lord, which arrived from the St. Elijah’s Monastery in Odesa. Alongside it, worshippers have the opportunity to venerate other sacred items kept in the Kamianske Eparchy:

a fragment of the relics of the Great Martyr and Healer Panteleimon;

a fragment of the relics of Saint Anatolius, Patriarch of Constantinople.

In each church visited by the procession, special prayers are offered before the holy relics — for peace in the country, for the protection of the city of Kamianske and its residents, for the local authorities, for soldiers at the front, and for families affected by the war.

It should be recalled that the ruling hierarch of the Kamianske Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Dnipropetrovsk region), Metropolitan Volodymyr of Kamianske and Tsarychanka, commented on the publication of his photo and personal data in the «Patriarchal Calendar – 2025» published by the Russian Orthodox Church. The hierarch stated that he has no connection to the ROC and remains faithful to «the Ukrainian state and its people.»
