UOC Priest from Kamianske Eparchy Forced to Dig Trenches After Being Deceptively Taken to Military Office

A cleric of the Kamianske Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Priest Rostyslav Kalynovskyi, was deceitfully taken by military officers to a territorial recruitment center and is now being held at a training facility in Lviv region. According to his relatives, Father Rostyslav refused to take the military oath, after which he was forced to perform physical labor — digging trenches and sawing trees. This was reported by the priest’s family, according to the Union of Orthodox Journalists (UOJ).

«All of this is happening in cold and rainy weather. Father has caught a cold, he has a fever and a cough. He is receiving no medical care. We managed to send him a package with medication, but we hope he will be examined by a doctor,» his relatives said.

It should be recalled that Priest Rostyslav Kalynovskyi has been unlawfully held at a military unit for over two weeks, after being detained a second time by representatives of the recruitment center. His family reports that he is being subjected to psychological pressure to force him into serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
