"Passover – The Path to Freedom": The State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience congratulated the Jews of Ukraine

On April 12, 2025, the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience congratulated the Jews of Ukraine on the holiday of Passover. In the message, the authors drew a parallel between the «path of the people of Israel to freedom» and contemporary Ukrainian realities. The greeting was published on the official website of the SSEFC.

«Passover speaks to each of us — regardless of our origin or faith — about dignity that cannot be taken away, about the courage to be ourselves, about the importance of supporting others and believing in a better future, even in the most difficult times. During these days, we recall the great journey of the people of Israel to freedom. This story, filled with faith and courage, resonates today in each of us. We understand the value of freedom, as every moment of our struggle is filled with this aspiration. Today, we stand side by side, protecting what is most precious — the right to our own life, our own identity,» the greeting reads.

It is worth noting that there was no mention of Palm Sunday, celebrated by Orthodox Christians on April 13, on the SSEFC website.

As a reminder, on March 13, 2025, the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience also congratulated the Jews of Ukraine on the holiday of Purim. The SSEFC noted that Purim is a living memory of the triumph of courage over fear, unity over discord, and faith over disbelief.
