Commentary from the Managing Director of the UOC regarding the searches at the Kyiv Metropolis

The Managing Director of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church commented on the searches that took place at the Kyiv Metropolis. According to him, the search was conducted in his office, the reception area, and the office of the Kyiv Metropolis. As a result, three computers were seized. This was reported by the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

The UOC representative emphasized that the search was conducted appropriately, and expressed gratitude for the support from his brothers and sisters. He highlighted the spiritual significance of this period, as the Church is currently going through the Passion Week, an important part of the preparation for celebrating the Resurrection of Christ.

«As the Church of Christ, we must follow the path of our Savior, and this path to the Resurrection goes through Golgotha. I am grateful for your prayers and wish all of us to pass through this period with spiritual benefit, so that we can joyfully meet the bright Resurrection of Christ,» he stated.

The Managing Director of the UOC also wished everyone grace and blessings during this holy time.

It is worth noting that on April 15, 2025, the Security Service of Ukraine conducted searches in the office of Metropolitan Antoniy (Pakanich), the Managing Director of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. These searches are part of an investigation concerning “obstructing the activities of religious communities, specifically their re-subordination.”
