Zelensky and First Lady to Attend Pope Francis’s Funeral

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, together with First Lady Olena Zelenska, will take part in the farewell ceremony for Pope Francis. This was reported by Glavkom, citing presidential advisor Dmytro Lytvyn.
The funeral of the pontiff will take place on Saturday, April 26, at 10:00. The Holy Mass will be led by Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, Dean of the College of Cardinals.
After the liturgy and the completion of the final rites, the coffin with the body of Pope Francis will be transferred to the Papal Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore for burial.
It is worth noting that Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople expressed condolences over the death of Pope Francis. The head of the Phanar described the Pope as “a true friend of Orthodoxy” and “a supporter of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.”
