Metropolitan Nestor of Korsun to Represent the Russian Orthodox Church at the Enthronement of Pope Leo XIV

At the enthronement of Pope Leo XIV, which will take place on May 18 in the Vatican, the Russian Orthodox Church will be represented by Metropolitan Nestor of Korsun and Western Europe (secular name Yevgeny Sirotenko), the Patriarchal Exarch of Western Europe.

This was announced in an interview with RIA Novosti by Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, head of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, confirming that Metropolitan Nestor will serve as the official representative of the Moscow Patriarchate at this ecclesiastical event.

It is also worth noting that His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia congratulated the new head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Leo XIV, on his election to the throne. In his official message, the Patriarch expressed hope for the further development of relations between Eastern and Western Christian traditions.
