OCU delegation attends the enthronement of the Pope

On May 18, 2025, on the day of the enthronement of the newly elected Pope Leo XIV, OCU officials visited the Vatican to take part in the celebrations on this occasion. The head of the OCU delegation was appointed the head of the press service of the organization, Yevstratiy Zorya. This was reported by the OCU website.

It is reported that the visit of the OCU delegation was supported by the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity. The delegation included the head of the press service of the OCU Yevstratiy Zorya and the dean of the Theological Faculty of the Lviv Orthodox Theological Academy, Archimandrite Cyprian Lozynsky. At the end of the Mass, in honor of numerous church delegations from Orthodox Churches, Oriental and Protestant Churches, religious and interfaith organizations, an official lunch was held in the Paul VI Hall in the Vatican in honor of the Dicastery.

Earlier, we reported that the Russian Orthodox Church also sent its delegation to the Vatican’s enthronement events on the occasion of the election of Pope Leo XIV. The ROC delegation was headed by Metropolitan Nestor of Korsun and Western Europe.
