Representatives of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations held a meeting with government officials

On May 22, 2025, a meeting took place at the «Temple of Peace» church of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations (AUCCRO) with Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Olena Kovalska and Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience Viktor Yelensky. This information was published on the AUCCRO website.
During the meeting, a range of issues concerning state-confessional relations were discussed.
Olena Kovalska informed participants about the preparations for this year’s National Prayer Breakfast. Following the discussion, the parties agreed on specific steps regarding the organization of this international event.
Head of the State Service Viktor Yelensky reported on the implementation status of Government Resolution No. 76 “Certain Issues of Implementation of the Provisions of the Law of Ukraine ‘On Mobilization Preparation and Mobilization’” concerning the reservation of military conscripts who are clergy.
Other topics addressed during the meeting included the activities of the Military Chaplaincy Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as issues related to the international humanitarian and advocacy work of religious organizations.
Employees of the Office of the President of Ukraine and the State Service for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience also participated in the event.
It is also worth recalling that a delegation of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations conducted a foreign visit to the United States lasting several days. All meetings held by AUCCRO representatives were devoted to religious persecution in the territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions not controlled by Ukraine. This time, even the persecution of Jews was discussed. At the same time, none of the conversations concerned the issue of banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
